Mental Health Nutrition
When we think about mental health, we often don’t think to consider nutrition. However, what we eat affects our mood, our energy and our ability to regulate our nervous system. In fact, what we ingest is the fundamental source of our life force energy. Self-care starts with nourishing our bodies with good healthy nutrients. Food is medicine. But, with our busy lives, it is difficult to change behaviors, and it can be overwhelming to even look at what we are eating as it can cause us to feel bad about ourselves for not doing better.
How Mental Health Nutrition Works
Mental Health Nutrition is not a separate program or service from therapy, rather it is offered as an adjunct for clients interested in maximizing their energy, mood and mental well-being through nutrition. Clients can opt into adding mental health nutrition as part of their psychotherapy. How it looks in session, is up to you. You get to guide the ship with how much or little you involve nutrition into your mental health toolbox.
